Similar to hiking and cycling, the nature of your motorbike tour is defined by the landscape. While you predominantly cruise over hills in the Salzburg Lake District and Salzkammergut region and can't get enough of the lake panoramas, high Alpine passes await you in the Berchtesgadener Alps and the Upper Tauern. The ride up to the Kaiser Franz Josef Höhe over the Großglockner High Alpine Road is one highlight in the Salzburger Land region. Although he Upper Tauern mountains are not just around the corner the Großglockner can be easily combined with the Gerlos Alpine Road and on the way there you can take the Watzmann and Hochkönig circuit too.
The good stuff is so nearby - in the Salzkammergut region
If you are less taken by the high mountains than the stunning nature of Salzburg's lakes, then hop onto your saddle and cruise through the Salzkammergut. There you can combine a motorbike tour perfectly with a swimming stop by a lake or a visit to the imperial town of Bad Ischl. Hallstatt and the famous view over the Dachstein from Gosau lake are also not too far away.
